Staff Bio- Chad Etheridge

Chad Etheridge

Chad Etheridge is our Youth and Missions Pastor. (See what happens when you hang out with teenagers long enough, more hair on your face than head and no children of your own unless you count his yellow labrador, "Sigo".) He spends most of his time working with teenagers - teaching, small groups, camps, and ridiculously fun events. Additionally, he gives oversight to church-wide mission efforts, with particular attention given to our partnership with Casa de la Esperanza, an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. Chad is also one of Hillside's teaching pastors.

Chad really gets teenagers' struggles with school since he is a perpetual student. Prior to moving to California, Chad attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama (BA Religious Education and BA Spanish). He first fell in love with and transplanted to California in 1999 while working for the high adventure Christian leadership camp JH RANCH in Northern California. It was there he decided the Bay Area would be a wonderful place to live and attend Golden Gate Seminary (dual MA program in Theological and Intercultural Studies). Chad is currently a Doctor of Ministry Candidate focused on Spiritual Leadership at Golden Gate Seminary.

When he is free from ministry and school responsibilities, you will definitely find him out on the mountain bike trials with his wonderful wife Leigh and/or Sigo! Leigh is finishing her MA at SFSU and works as an environmental geographer in Marin.
