Waumba Land - Our Environment for Preschool Kids

Waumba is the Swahilian word for “creator.” Hillside Family Ministry’s greatest desire is to make Waumba Land an engaging and safe place where your children can experience God’s love for them and be cared for in smaller age-level groups.

We want all of our Waumba Land kids to know that:

- God Made Me
- God Loves Me
- Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever

Waumba Land is offered each week at 9:30am. It is a clean, safe and carefully staffed environment where your children will be well cared for while you enjoy the worship service. Waumba Land opens for check-in at 9:15am.

Please note: Check-in closes for children at 9:45am. If children arrive after check-in closes, they will be provided with an activity bag so they may join you in worship. For those who have children who are unable to sit quietly in worship, we invite you to sit with your child in the lobby where the sermons may be heard easily and children have more freedom of movement.

Room Locations:
Waumba Land 1 (WL1): Infants (Birth- 15 Months)
Waumba Land 2 (WL2): Toddlers (15-23 months)
Waumba Land 3 (WL3): Preschool (2-3 year olds)
Waumba Land 4 (WL4): PreKindergarteners (4-5 year olds)

New to Hillside?
Please arrive a few minutes early to complete a short registration form and provide your personal cell phone number which we will use to notify you by text messaging or paging in the event your child needs you during their time with us in Waumba Land. Also, on first visits we suggest that at least one parent share the experience with their child as new environments can be unsettling to a young child. A CD of the service is available following the first service or online Mondays for those who miss service to allow their children adequate transition time to the new environment.
