Terri Woodard, is Hillside’s Pastor of Kids and Families and Executive Director of Kids on the Hill Preschool. She oversees Hillside’s Family Ministry environments, Waumba Land and UpStreet for children. Terri is also a part-time graduate student, pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree with a family life certification at the Menlo Park campus of Fuller Theological Seminary.
Terri has been in ministry for nearly 25 years serving in several different church settings. She has a huge heart for the life journey of today’s families, whether they are a traditional, blended, or a single parent family. They all face tremendous pressures and challenges, and Terri believes that the very least that the church can do for families is have an environment that their children will find irresistible.
Terri’s calling is to see the church and the parents working together as partners in growing children and students spiritually. She leads Hillside’s Family Ministry into a new philosophy about how to do ministry for children and students. This philosophy is called Orange. Terri recently moved to Marin from Salinas and lives in Mill Valley. She has been married to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Keith, for thirty plus years. Keith is a Senior Product Manager for a semiconductor firm in San Jose and they have two adult children. Their oldest, Jim, is a staff professional with a water company in Salinas. Their youngest, Brianna, a recent college grad from Sonoma State University, is now working with Americorps in Santa Rosa as a reading specialist during the school day and as a staff member for an after school program. The Woodard’s also have a “furry kid”, Kira, a small terrier mix who offers much comic relief and companionship.
